Days Of The Week

There are seven days in a week. There are five weekdays and two days which are called the weekend.

We use the preposition on to talk about the day of a specific event happening in the near future.

When we are talking about today, (the present day) we use is.

Days of the Week in Order

Monday

I have an appointment on Monday.

Tuesday

My birthday is on Tuesday.

Wednesday

Today is Wednesday, the middle of the week.

Thursday

I am going to my auntie's house for dinner on Thursday.

Friday

I am going to a party on Friday.

Saturday

I am playing baseball on Saturday.

Sunday

We always have family meals on Sunday.

We always use an upper case letter for days of the week.

It is common to see the abbreviation of days of the week. This is done by shortening the names to only the first three letters.
